Everything started in a beautiful farming town in Seoul, South Korea, where Mr. Kimbob® was born. Rice fields and vegetable farms were Mr. Kimbob®’s go-to, happy place. Whenever he had the chance, he would go planting and harvesting with his local farmer friends. Different types of herbs and vegetables piqued the most of his interest, and he was often curious of how each plants grow.

And then there was the kitchen.

It’s the place where he spent most of his time helping his mom and grandmother prepare tasty Korean dishes. At an early age, he was able to learn the art of flavors and spices, their textures and their right uses. Those times were Mr. Kimbob®’s beginning of a life-long passion for cooking.

Mr. Kimbob®’s all-time favorite dish is a Bibimbob®. It’s a delicious combination of rice, meat, and vegetables, which creates a beautiful arrangement of colors. Mr. Kimbob® has always been eager to mix it all together, whenever he eats a bowl, savoring every delicious bite.

Thus the beginning of his quest…

Mr. Kimbob®’s goal is to share his love for Korean food to the world! For years, Mr. Kimbob® travelled all across Korea to find the origin of the Korean dishes he loves to cook. The goal is to study and taste the different variations of his favorite dishes in order to create new and distinct recipes of his own.

After years of visiting different regions where the dishes were known to originate from, he was able to combine all the recipes and cooking techniques he discovered, added his own touch… And then, voila! Mr. Kimbob® came up with the menu assortment we can now all enjoy at Mr. Kimbob® stores across the world.
